Patna: Misa Bharti, the daughter of Bihar powerhouse Lalu Yadav was caught on camera today, inside a polling booth within her constituency, arguing with officials supervising her election.

A voter filmed her on a cellphone.

An election official that Misa can be seen arguing with claims that she later pushed him and then broke a voting machine, though the cellphone video does not show this.

Misa, 39, who is contesting her first election, denies any wrongdoing. She says that she was told the machine had been rigged and demanded an explanation from the official, at which point, some men at the booth grabbed her cellphone.

She has filed a police case against the election official. Sources say the Election Commission is also likely to register a police complaint against her.

Misa is running from Pataliputra in Patna, the capital of Bihar. She is up against two former confidantes of her father who is banned from contesting the election because he has been found guilty of corruption.

Ram Kirpal Yadav quit Lalu's Rashtriya Janata Dal after Misa was selected as the Pataliputra candidate instead of him; he is running on a BJP ticket.

The third heavyweight in this area is Ranjan Yadav, who quit Lalu's party in 2002 and joined the Janta Dal (United) in 2009 and is the current MP from Pataliputra.
