CBSE Hikes Board Exam Fees
CBSE has hiked exam fee for board exams to be conducted in 2021

Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has increased the registration fee for board examination. The registration for class 10 board exams is done when a student is in class 9 and for class 12 is done when a students is in class 11. This year the board has begun the registration process a bit earlier than previous year to provide sufficient time to complete the processes involved.

The registration fee has been doubled. Until last year, the registration fee was Rs. 150 per student for schools in India and Rs. 250 per student for schools abroad. With the increase in the fee, the registration fee is Rs. 300 per student for schools in India and Rs. 500 per student for schools abroad.

The last date to complete the registration process is October 15, 2019 without the late fee.

For students who miss out on the registration process by the last date, they can complete the registration process from October 16 to October 31, 2019 by an additional late fee of Rs. 2000.

Students can offer minimum 5 or more subjects. The subject combination allowed by the board is available in the official notification released by the board and is also available on the board's official website.

The registration process for 2021 board examination began on August 8, 2019. The registration process is facilitated through a student's school.

The board examination in 2020 will be conducted through 16 Regional Offices of the Board. This has necessitated changing school codes and new school codes have been sent to all the schools by the concerned regional offices.
