CBSE Curriculum 2026-27: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is set to release the curriculum for the academic session 2026-27 for Classes 9 to 12 today at 3 PM, marking a key shift in the school education framework.
The move comes as CBSE begins implementing the scheme of studies recommended under the National Curriculum Framework for School Education (NCF-2023) in Class 9 from this year. Accordingly, the revised curriculum for Classes 9 and 10 will be issued today.
To explain the changes, CBSE will also hold a special webinar focusing on the updated scheme of studies and other key revisions outlined in the opening section of the Secondary Curriculum (Part I) 2026-27.
Students, teachers, and other stakeholders can attend the session via the official YouTube link.
Following the release, the complete curriculum documents will be made available on the CBSE Academic Portal. Schools have been directed to download the full curriculum, including the introductory guidelines, and circulate it among teachers and students for immediate reference.
The board has instructed schools to make necessary arrangements for implementing the revised curriculum in line with the prescribed guidelines. Strict adherence to both the general instructions and subject-specific curriculum has been mandated.
Highlighting the focus of the revised curriculum, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) said, "The curriculum is aligned with the vision of NCF-2023, with an emphasis on competency-based education, experiential learning, flexibility, and the holistic development of students."
School heads have also been advised to sensitise teachers and organise special Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs) to inform parents and students about the key changes and ensure smooth implementation from the beginning of the 2026-27 academic session.
