Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia Was In Speeding Car, Driver Ignored Cops

New Delhi: Manish Sisodia, the Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi was in his official car when it was speeding and ignored police requests to stop, said police sources today.

"As the car did not stop, it was chased by a traffic constable on a bike who later issued the challan (ticket)," said an unnamed officer to news agency IANS.

"A fine of Rs 400 was imposed when Sisodia's car was found speeding by our interceptor vehicle on June 12 evening," Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Sandeep Goel said to the news agency.

Sources said that Mr Sisodia's car was speeding for at least 30 minutes and his driver ignored three requests from a traffic policeman to come to a stop.

Mr Sisodia has not commented so far on the controversy.
