Gurpreet shoots two Gold in pairs events
New Delhi: Indian shooters have continued to keep the medals tally ticking as they clinched two Gold and a Silver medal on the fourth day of the Commonwealth Games.

Vijay Kumar and Gurpreet Singh started the day on a winning not after they clinched gold medal in 25m rapid fire pistol pairs event.

Gurpreet won his second Gold in the day in the 10m air pistol with his partner Omkar Singh.

In men's double trap singles event, Ronjan Sodhi clinched Silver. Sodhi kept his nerves to win silver after 4 stations but it was a near miss for Asher Noria, who missed out on a bronze. England took the top honours but there was a nail-biting tie-breaker.

However, world champion Tejaswini Sawant and Lajja Gausami fell by the wayside in the 50m rifle 3 position singles. Gausami finished a lowly sixth after Tejaswini failed to qualify for the finals.

Kumar and Gurpreet together fired 1162 to bag the top prize, ahead of Malaysia's Amir Hasan Hasli Izwan and Adzha Hafiz (1142) and Australian bronze medal winning duo of Bruce Quick and David Chapman (1125) at Dr Karni Singh Shooting Range here.

Kumar shot 294 in stage 1 and 293 in stage 2, while Gurpreet fired 282 in the first and 293 in the second stage.
