Women tied him to a tree and took turns beating him

Nalgonda, Andhra Pradesh:

For 19 years, he came home drunk every night, and beat up his wife, demanding dowry.  

Tired of his promises to change his ways, the women of a small village in the Nalgonda district of Andhra Pradesh finally tied the offender to a tree on Monday and took turns beating him.

Village elders had repeatedly warned the man to stop assaulting his wife.  

He has now been handed over to the police and a formal case of physical abuse has been lodged against him.
