Major mishap averted on Mumbai's Western Railways line
Mumbai: A major mishap was averted on Mumbai's Western Railways line on Friday when a metal girder that holds a foot-over-bridge collapsed at Charni Road in South Mumbai.

Fortunately the bridge didn't collapse and no one was injured.

"The bridge is now safe. There will be an enquiry. It could have been a major tragedy had it fallen on a passing train," said Shyam Sunder Gupta, the Chief PRO of the Western Railways.

Trains passing through the area were diverted to another line for safety reasons. Some trains were initially running late by 10-15 minutes but normalcy has been resumed now.
