Ahmednagar:
A 22-year-old college student has survived a murder attempt - she was shot in her home in Ahmedagar late last night.
The man who broke into her house and opened fire has not been traced. The bullet he shot at Namrata Dhapse grazed her kidney.
"The bullet has injured her intestine, liver, spleen and kidney. We are planning to perform a surgery on the intestine; and if the kidney is badly damaged, we will have no other option but to remove it," said the doctor.
Namrata's parents and brother were at home during the shooting. She is expected to be able to speak to the police tomorrow to record a formal statement.
The motive for the attack is not clear yet. Namrata's brother has reportedly gone missing after the incident.
