Andhra Pradesh:
The driver of a mini van, which was illegally transporting 950 turtles to neighbouring states, was killed after the vehicle overturned near Diwancheruvu here, police said today. The mishap occurred in the early hours on National Highway-5 in East Godavari district, they said.
Police have recovered turtles of various sizes from 14 gunny bags from the vehicle, they said. The turtles were being carried in fish containers, police said. A case has been registered and a mobile phone was recovered from the van.
