Bengaluru (Karnataka):

A Bengaluru man has filed a complaint against his wife, accusing her of harassment, sexual misconduct, cheating, and forced eviction from his house. The 37-year-old man has also accused his in-laws of continuous interference in his marital life, resulting in frequent disputes between the couple.

According to a First Information Report (FIR), the complainant, a resident of Nagarbhavi, married 31-year-old Shilpa at a private venue in Bengaluru and later moved into a villa in Jakkuru. In his complaint, the man alleged that his mother-in-law, Asha, restricted his access to the house. She allegedly instigated him to leave her daughter so that she could find a better man for her. The complainant also accused his father-in-law, Madhav Krishna, of sending people to his house to threaten him.

In his allegations against his wife, the man claimed that he was subjected to emotional distress, with his wife allegedly mocking his financial status and expressing dissatisfaction with his ability to support her lifestyle. The man alleged that his wife spent time with her 'rich' friends and maintained a lifestyle involving frequent partying and drinking.

The complainant has also accused his wife of sexual harassment and mental cruelty. He claimed she subjected him to repeated sexual torture, sent him obscene videos, and pressured him to replicate such acts. He further alleged that she coerced him into engaging in intimate acts involving one of her friends and insisted on sharing details of their private life with others. Additionally, the man stated that his wife admitted to having extramarital affairs with her ex-boyfriends.

The man brought the issue to both sets of parents, and a family mediation was held on July 4, 2024. He was allegedly thrown out of the house on September 24, 2024, while his wife was taken to Chennai by her mother. The complainant further claimed that he was allowed to take only minimal belongings - his uniform and a laptop.

He alleges that cash amounting to Rs 1.87 lakh, gold and silver ornaments, including a choker weighing 44 grams, a 35-gram gold chain, an 18-gram gold bracelet, and an 11-gram gold ring, personal documents including his passport and educational certificates, and several household items remain in the villa and have been unlawfully withheld. He also claimed that wedding photos and videos stored on his laptop were deleted, adding to his emotional distress.

The man claimed he had given his wife silver plates and lamps that he had received as wedding gifts.

He has now sought police intervention to recover his belongings and initiate legal action against the accused.

The police have registered the case and begun an investigation to verify the allegations and establish the sequence of events in what appears to be a complex marital dispute involving accusations of harassment, coercion and financial misconduct.

According to sources, the wife has also made serious counter-allegations against the husband, and a separate FIR is said to have been registered in Tamil Nadu. An ongoing court matter between the parties is also believed to be linked to the registration of the case in Bengaluru.
