Hyundai Motor Company has collaborated with Pokemon Korea to introduce Pokemon-themed infotainment interfaces on select vehicles in South Korea. This feature integrates Pikachu into the digital dashboards, transforming standard displays into engaging, themed environments. Available exclusively through Hyundai's connected car Navigation Cockpit (ccNC) system, these themes mark a novel approach to automotive user interface design.
The offerings include "Pokemon Pikachu Quick Attack" and "Pokemon Ditto World," which comprehensively customise the 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and central touchscreen. In the Pikachu theme, dynamic animations feature the character alongside electric effects during screen transitions and vehicle startup sequences.

Owners access these themes via the BlueLink Store or mobile application, with purchases linked permanently to their accounts. Priced at 29,900 South Korean Won (approximately Rs 1,888 ), the feature is compatible with models including the Staria van, Sonata sedan, Palisade SUV, Nexo hydrogen vehicle, Ioniq 6 electric vehicle, and the recently launched Ioniq 9. Hyundai anticipates potential expansion to additional models pending further development.
This initiative reflects Hyundai's strategy to differentiate its advanced digital cockpits amid growing market saturation. In South Korea, where Pokemon maintains enduring popularity, the themes have garnered positive reception. While no timeline exists for international markets, including India, the collaboration highlights evolving trends in automotive personalisation, leveraging licensed intellectual property to foster user engagement.
For Hyundai customers in eligible regions, activation occurs seamlessly through vehicle settings. This development underscores the automotive industry's shift toward experiential technology, blending entertainment with essential instrumentation.
