Volkswagen Taigun Facelift Spied Testing Sans Camo; Here's All About The Upcoming Creta Rival

Volkswagen is preparing to refresh its Taigun SUV for the Indian market, and recent sightings of a test vehicle have given a clearer picture of what's coming. Unlike earlier prototypes, the latest test mule was seen with minimal camouflage, revealing most of the design changes.

The front end of the updated Volkswagen Taigun Facelift  looks sharper than before. The headlights are slimmer and more aggressive, while the grille between them has been reduced in size. A light strip runs along the top edge, meeting the VW badge in the centre, which now features illumination. With the upper grille downsized, more bodywork is visible on the bumper, giving the SUV a stronger stance. The lower section has also been reworked, with a wider air intake and a fresh bumper design that adds to the muscular look.

At the rear, the facelift introduces connected tail lamps with a revised lighting signature. The bumper has been redesigned too, featuring vertical reflectors and a broader faux skid plate. New alloy wheel designs, likely 17-inch units, are expected to accompany these exterior changes.

Inside, Volkswagen is set to make notable updates. The dashboard will be reworked with repositioned central air vents and a cleaner layout. A fully digital 10.25-inch instrument cluster is expected, along with an updated 10.25-inch floating touchscreen for infotainment. Comfort features are also being enhanced - reports suggest the rear seat may include a massage function for the outer passengers, aimed at improving long-distance usability.

Mechanically, the Taigun facelift will continue with the familiar 1.0-litre TSI and 1.5-litre TSI Evo petrol engines. The bigger change lies in the gearbox options. The 1.0-litre TSI, which currently offers a 6-speed automatic, is expected to switch to a new 8-speed automatic transmission. This should improve efficiency and refinement, while the manual options remain unchanged.
