Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has announced a new Coachbuild Collection programme that will debut with a fully bespoke electric vehicle, marking the first EV under its revived coachbuilding operation. The invitation-only initiative targets ultra-luxury clients who seek unique, one-off creations paired with multi-year personalised experiences. Unveiled on March 23, 2026, the collection reflects client demand for electric powertrains, building on the success of the Spectre model.
The Coachbuild Collection goes beyond standard Bespoke commissions by offering select clients, invited via Rolls-Royce's global Private Office network, full involvement in design, development and production. Each project introduces a fresh body style, engineered for road legality, with no repeats in production. Participants gain exclusive access to testing facilities, design studios and artisan interactions over several years.

The inaugural model, due for reveal in April 2026, draws inspiration from the Spectre grand tourer and will feature a fully electric powertrain. This choice aligns with preferences among existing Spectre owners, who value the refinement of electrification. Unlike prior coachbuilt icons like the 2017 Sweptail, 2021 Boat Tail and 2023 Droptail, all powered by the 6.75-litre V12, the new EV shifts to silent propulsion while maintaining hallmark luxury. Specific technical details remain under wraps pending the unveiling.

Chris Brownridge, Chief Executive, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, said, "I have had the privilege of meeting clients around the world who seek the very pinnacle in luxury and share an extraordinary passion for Rolls-Royce design. It became clear that they wished to see not only what Rolls-Royce would create if left entirely to its own imagination and with the freedom offered by coachbuilding, but they also wanted to witness that journey at every stage. Coachbuild Collection is the result."
"This is something the super-luxury world has never seen before. The experience of this programme is inseparable from the motor car itself, and both will be brought to life with the care and ambition worthy of the collectors who inspired them - and of Rolls-Royce itself," he added.
