The French car brand - Renault, is all set to revive one of its most iconic nameplates in the Indian market - the Duster. After being discontinued in 2022, the Duster is making a grand comeback on 26 January 2026, coinciding with Republic Day celebrations. Known for its rugged design and strong road presence, the new-generation 2026 Renault Duster promises to bring modern styling, advanced features, and competitive pricing to the mid-size SUV segment.
The Indian market could only get to live with the first-generation of the SUV, since Renault decided to skip the 2nd-gen model for our shores. The 3rd-gen Duster is finally coming. While it looks hot and tasteful, it will have to face a host of rivals, and let's meet the contenders the 2026 Renault Duster will have to compete with.

Hyundai Creta
The segment leader, Hyundai Creta, offers a wide range of engine options, premium interiors, and a strong brand reputation. Its recent facelift has made it even more appealing with ADAS features and a refreshed design. With multiple engine-gearbox combinations and trims, there is a Creta for everyone's requirement.

Kia Seltos
Just updated, the all-new 2026 Kia Seltos looks polarizing but bold. It is now larger, posher, and more tech-loaded. The Seltos too is loved by the masses for its stylish looks and tech-loaded cabin, making it another formidable competitor. With multiple powertrain choices and a sporty GT Line variant, it remains a top pick for buyers seeking performance and features.

Maruti Suzuki Victoris
Maruti's entry into the mid-size SUV space has been a game-changer. The Victoris offers strong-hybrid technology, excellent fuel efficiency, and Maruti's extensive service network - making it a tough rival for the Duster. The icing on the cake is the underbody CNG tank, ensuring that frugality doesn't come at the cost of boot space.
