Mercedes-Benz has announced the launch of the V-Class in the Indian market on March 3. In the international market, the Mercedes-Benz V-Class employs a 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel engine, which is offered with two states of tune. The 220d variant produces 163 hp of power and 380 Nm of peak torque. Meanwhile, the 300d puts out 237 hp of power and 500 Nm of peak torque. The unit is paired to a 9-speed automatic transmission with the options of rear-wheel drive and an all-wheel-drive system.
Once launched in India, the V-Class will compete in a growing market consisting of models like the Toyota Vellfire and the Lexus LM. However, it will differentiate itself with a diesel powertrain, as others have a petrol-powered unit. The segment also has battery electric vehicles like the MG M9.
