KTM India launched the 160 Duke in the Indian market in October 2025, establishing it as the entry-level model in their motorcycle lineup. This launch sparked conversations about a new model in the RC family that would use the same engine. Until now, the design of this motorcycle remained a secret, but now images have surfaced, showcasing it in full glory. Here, we explore the details of this new machine.

Following the same pattern as the 160 Duke, the KTM RC 160 draws inspiration from its bigger sibling, the RC 200. To begin with, the motorcycle features a similar design for the LED headlamp unit and the DRLs, with the windshield placed on top of it. This is complemented by the presence of polygonal rear-view mirrors and a fuel tank that merges with the split seat design. Even the graphics on the fairing are very similar to those on RC200.

The images show the black colour option of the motorcycle with orange highlights. Chances are, the brand might introduce other colour options as well to the machine. Some of these options might be exclusive to the RC family, setting it apart from the naked Duke.

At heart, the KTM RC160 will have the same 164 cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine employed on the 160 Duke. This unit is tuned to produce 19 hp of power at 9,500 rpm and 15.5 Nm of peak torque at 7,500 rpm. It is claimed to be the highest figure in the segment. This power is transferred to the wheel using a six-speed gearbox.

In addition to this, it is expected that the motorcycle will have many of the mechanical parts as the KTM 160 Duke. It will be equipped with a WP Apex inverted fork and a monoshock for suspension, along with the same lightweight alloy wheels found on the KTM 160 Duke. The braking system is expected to feature a 320mm disc brake in the front and a 230mm disc brake in the rear, complete with dual-channel ABS.

With these specs, the KTM RC 160 will compete against the Yamaha R15 V4, which comes with a 155 cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine. This unit produces 18 hp of power and 14 Nm of peak torque. It works with a six-speed gearbox.
