India's JSW Motors has joined hands with the Chinese carmaker Chery. The result of this partnership has already started to show. How? Well, JSW recently released a newspaper ad teasing the Jetour T2 SUV. Also, the brand has started inviting dealership applications, and the Jetour T2 will come along with the Chery iCaur V23 electric SUV. The Jetour's arrival has been confirmed by various media reports for the festive season this year. Once launched, it will rival the likes of the Toyota Fortuner, Jeep Meridian, MG Majestor, and more. But it is highly likely that the JSW Jetour T2 could put the Toyota Fortuner's sales at risk. Why? Well, the SUV has been recording great sales numbers in the markets it is currently on sale - thanks to its immense feature list and future-proof powertrain. What Does The JSW Jetour T2 Look Like?

The upcoming Fortuner rival has also been patented in India, offering an early preview of the design direction of the JSW Jetour T2. Based on the spy images and patent filings, the SUV is expected to feature a distinctly boxy stance with a tough-looking silhouette, leading to comparisons with the Land Rover Defender. Earlier test mule sightings suggest that the front fascia may get sleek LED light strips that form the headlamp signature.

It is also expected to feature pixel-style LED fog lamps integrated into the bumper, which further enhances its rugged road presence. In addition, the SUV is likely to come with an upright bonnet, a chunky front bumper, and pronounced wheel arches to strengthen its muscular appearance.

What Features Can Be Expected From The Jetour T2?

Inside the cabin, the JSW Jetour T2 is likely to retain several features from the international-spec model. These may include a 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system along with a 10.25-inch fully digital driver's display. The SUV is expected to offer seating for five passengers. Other likely features include a panoramic sunroof, wireless charging for front occupants, a 12-speaker Sony sound system, powered and ventilated front seats, and automatic climate control.

For safety, the India-spec Jetour T2 is also expected to borrow equipment from the global version. Likely features include a 360-degree camera, Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), along with hill-start assist and hill-descent control. Most of these safety technologies are expected to be carried over to the Indian version as well.

What Powers The JSW Jetour T2?

Globally, the Jetour T2 is offered in both plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and fully electric (EV) forms, but the India-bound version is expected to be introduced only with the hybrid setup. The PHEV version uses a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 154 hp and 220 Nm, paired with a 26.7 kWh battery pack. Internationally, it is available in both a single-motor front-wheel-drive setup and a dual-motor all-wheel-drive layout. The battery pack is claimed to deliver an NEDC-rated pure electric driving range of up to 139 km.

What Is The Expected Price Of The Jetour T2?

Once launched in India, the JSW Jetour T2 will take on established full-size SUVs such as the Toyota Fortuner and likes. In terms of pricing, it is likely to be positioned in the Rs 35 lakh to Rs 40 lakh bracket, making it a premium SUV offering in the segment.
