India's legendary rally car driver, Hari Singh, aged 59, is missing after a speedboat crash in the Maldives. The incident left Raymond Group chairman and managing director Gautam Singhania injured after the speedboat was overturned near V Felidhoo island. Along with Hari Singh, two Indian passengers are reported missing and search operations are underway in the area of the accident.
At the time of the incident, Gautam Singhania and Hari Singh, a five-time Indian National Rally Championship winner, were among the seven people on the speedboat when it overturned, as per reports. Following the crash, Singhania and others were rescued while search operations are underway for Hari and the other missing people.
Reaction from the Motorsport Fraternity
The news has the motocross fraternity worried and praying for the safety of the Indian legend. Rattan Dhillon a rally driver from Chandigarh, shared his thoughts on X, saying, "How unfortunate... Mr. Hari Singh sir, a true legend of Indian motorsport and closely associated with JK Tyre and Mercedes, has gone missing following a speedboat accident in the Maldives."

"It's been over 22 hours since rescue operations began, and the Indian Navy along with Maldivian authorities are continuing the search. Thankfully, 6-7 people on board, including Mr. Gautam Singhania, have been rescued safely. Hari sir needs our prayers right now hoping for his safe return!" he added.
Who is Hari Singh?
Hari Singh is renowned for his illustrious career as a rally driver. He secured victory in the Indian National Rally Championship five times during the 1990s and also won the first Asia Zone Rally Championship title. Having represented India in various international rally competitions, he later became the Head of Operations at JK Tyre Motorsport. Additionally, he worked closely with Mercedes-Benz India as a chief instructor.
