
The Hyundai Ioniq 5 was launched in the Indian market for the first time in January 2023. Now, the South Korean brand is preparing to introduce a facelift version of the electric SUV, which is already on sale in the global markets. The vehicle, built on the E-GMP platform, has been spotted testing on various occasions in the country. In the latest spy shot, the electric vehicle was seen at a charging station in Chennai. These sightings suggest that the launch of the EV in India is approaching.
Beginning with the design aspects, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 facelift will showcase visual updates. These updates will be evident in the form of a redesigned bumper featuring a V-shaped embellishment. Hidden under camouflage, the test mule is also equipped with new alloy wheels. With all these modifications, the electric vehicle will measure 4,655 mm in overall length, which is an increase of 20 mm compared to its predecessor. Additionally, the wheelbase spans 3,000 mm, with a height of 1,605 mm and a width of 1,890 mm.

On the interior, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 facelift will include changes to its layout. It will feature a revised center console to enhance usability. Features like heated and ventilated seats, heated steering, and parking assist will be incorporated into this design. Furthermore, the location of the wireless charger has been adjusted. Despite these changes, the new 12.3-inch infotainment system remains the focal point of attention.

From a mechanical point of view, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 Facelift offers a single Permanent Magnet Synchronous (PMS) motor setup (RWD) along with an option for a dual motor configuration (AWD). The RWD variant generates 221 hp and 350 Nm of torque, while the AWD version produces 315 hp and 605 Nm of torque. The estimated driving ranges are 394 km for the 63 kWh RWD model, 511 km for the 84 kWh RWD model, and 466 km for the 84 kWh AWD version. The base variant equipped with the 63 kWh battery exclusively features a single motor setup.
