Hero Vida Ubex Design Patent

Hero MotoCorp's electric vehicle manufacturing arm, Vida, is preparing itself to enter the electric motorcycle market. Moving in the direction, the automaker has patented its first electric motorcycle, the Vida Ubex, for the domestic market. Positioned as an urban-focused electric bike, Ubex appears to be moving closer to production, following its earlier debut as a concept alongside other Vida electric projects.

Ubex was first showcased as one of four Vida concepts teased for EICMA 2025, where NEX took shape as a compact electric mobility concept, while the other three were pitched as motorcycle nameplates. The newly surfaced patent images suggest that Ubex has evolved from a pure concept into a near-production streetfighter-style electric motorcycle.

The design shows an aggressive, sporty naked bike with a mono projector headlamp flanked by LED daytime running lamps and turn indicators, giving it a modern urban character. Unlike the concept that was shown with USD front forks, the patent points to a more cost-effective setup with conventional telescopic forks, hinting at production-ready component choices. The bike retains alloy wheels and an overall muscular design, with an upright handlebar, sculpted "tank" section, and sharp side panels.

Ergonomics seem to be relatively upright and commuter-friendly, with a single-piece stepped seat, neutral footpeg position, and split grab rails for the pillion. Hardware details visible in the patent include a tubular trellis-type swingarm, tyre hugger, and disc brakes at both ends, underscoring its urban performance intent.

A large battery pack extending low in the frame is the visual highlight, hinting at a higher-capacity setup aimed at real-world urban range. Power is expected to come from a mid-mounted motor driving the rear wheel, in line with other Vida motorcycle concepts shown so far. The production model could also feature a TFT display with connected features such as turn-by-turn navigation, in keeping with the tech-forward positioning of Vida products.

There is no confirmed launch timeline yet, and public road testing of the Ubex prototype has not been spotted so far. Once introduced, the Vida Ubex is expected to be retailed through Hero's premium Premia network as well as dedicated Vida outlets, strengthening the brand's presence in India's growing electric motorcycle space.
