5 Concept Cars Revealed Recently That We Hope Enter Production Soon

Freelander Concept - Jaguar Land Rover's Electric Off-Roader

The Freelander name has returned after a decade-long hiatus, now as a standalone brand through Jaguar Land Rover's joint venture with Chery. The Concept 97 pays tribute to the original 1997 Freelander while signaling a future of electric off-road SUVs.

The SUV's design merges classic Freelander cues with the modern Defender, featuring slanted D-pillars, suicide doors, and a pixelated LED setup. Glacier Blue and Thousand Mountain Green paint options complement black cladding and aluminum accents around the hood, grille, skid plates, and tailgate.

Inside, the Freelander Concept offers a three-row, six-passenger layout. A wide pillar-to-pillar display, spacious infotainment touchscreen, rotating dials on the steering wheel, and a second-row drop-down screen create a tech-forward cabin. It also features the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8397 chip and Huawei Qiankun Intelligent Driving ADS 4.1 system with a 896-line LiDAR sensor.

The brand plans to launch six production models over the next five years, starting with China and eventually expanding globally.

Hyundai Boulder Concept - Korea's Rugged Off-Roader

For years, Hyundai lacked a true body-on-frame SUV for serious off-roading. The Boulder Concept, unveiled at the 2026 New York International Auto Show, fills that gap, drawing inspiration from Jeep Wrangler Rubicon and Ford Bronco.

Built on a fully boxed body-on-frame chassis, the Boulder features 37-inch mud-terrain tires, high ground clearance, aggressive angles, and a tailgate-mounted full-size spare wheel. Dual safari roof windows, sturdy door handles, and a low-profile roof rack reinforce its adventure-ready character.

Inside, the cabin prioritizes durability and usability. Hard-wearing materials, physical buttons, and rotary knobs ensure easy operation even on rough terrain. Fold-out tray tables and a configurable interior cater to outdoor lifestyles, blending toughness with practicality.
While the Boulder itself won't enter production, its ladder-frame platform will underpin a midsize pickup truck planned before 2030, designed and built in the U.S. with American steel.

Renault Bridger - Compact SUV with Defender-Like Styling

Renault has unveiled the Bridger Concept, dubbed the "Mini Duster," offering a rugged, upright design reminiscent of the Land Rover Defender. The compact SUV features squared-off proportions, muscular wheel arches, and a boxy silhouette, emphasizing off-road capability.

Slated for production around 2027, the Bridger will use Renault's R-GMP architecture, with petrol, hybrid, and electric options. It will slot into the competitive sub-4-metre segment, making it an attractive option for markets like India.

With a focus on electrification and modern design, the Bridger is expected to rival vehicles such as the Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, and Kia Sonet.

Mahindra Vision S - Rugged Yet Practical

Mahindra continues to develop its Vision S SUV, which has been spotted testing with key design cues intact. The SUV retains the boxy, adventure-ready character of the concept, featuring tailgate-mounted spare wheels, squared windows, thick rear pillars, and a short overhang.

Inside, it offers a panoramic sunroof, touchscreen infotainment, rear-center armrest, and three-point seatbelts for all passengers. Built on Mahindra's NU IQ platform, the Vision S will likely feature petrol, diesel, and electrified powertrains, including a 1.2-litre TGDi petrol engine (131 hp) and 1.5-litre diesel (117 hp).

The SUV balances practicality with comfort, appealing to adventure enthusiasts and family buyers alike.

Tata Avinya - India's Futuristic Electric SUV

Tata Motors is pushing electric mobility further with the Avinya, a concept showcasing what India's EV future could look like. With a sleek, aerodynamic design, the Avinya combines Tata's signature styling cues with futuristic elements, including sharp LED lights, a bold grille, and an aerodynamic roofline.
