2026 Honda City Facelift: 5 Big Updates That Make a Difference

The 2026 Honda City facelift has been launched in India at a starting ex-showroom price of Rs 12 lakh, marking the second mid-cycle update for Honda's long-standing sedan. With a legacy spanning nearly three decades, the City continues to be a key offering in the midsize sedan segment. This latest iteration introduces a series of updates across design, features, and technology, aimed at keeping the model relevant in an evolving market.

Revised Exterior Styling

One of the most noticeable changes in the 2026 Honda City facelift is its updated exterior design. The sedan now features a connected LED DRL light bar integrated with Bi-LED projector headlamps, lending it a more modern appearance. The front fascia is further enhanced by a black Matrix mesh grille and a repositioned Honda logo.

The bumper has been redesigned with aerodynamic air curtains, contributing to a cleaner look. At the rear, the sedan gets Z-Edge wraparound LED tail lamps, a subtle trunk lip spoiler, and a revised lower bumper garnish. The updated model is also 11 mm longer than before, measuring 4,594 mm, and continues to ride on 16-inch alloy wheels.

New Colour Options

Honda has expanded the colour palette for the City facelift to include six exterior shades. Alongside existing options like Radiant Red Metallic, Obsidian Blue Pearl, Meteoroid Grey Metallic, Lunar Silver Metallic, and Platinum White Pearl, the updated model introduces a new Crystal Black Pearl finish.

Enhanced Cabin Experience

Inside, the 2026 Honda City introduces a refreshed dual-tone Ivory and Black interior theme with a Dark Iron 3D pattern garnish. The cabin focuses on comfort and convenience, with features such as rear lounge seating, ambient lighting, and a wireless phone charger.

A new 10.1-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system takes centre stage, offering wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. Honda has also upgraded the front ventilated seats, claiming a 40 percent improvement in cooling efficiency. Additional features include a sunroof, a walk-away auto-lock function, and remote AC operation.

Safety and Technology Updates

The safety suite on the 2026 Honda City remains comprehensive, with features such as six airbags, Vehicle Stability Assist, tyre pressure monitoring system, and Level 2 ADAS continuing as standard or variant-specific offerings.

A key addition, however, is the inclusion of a 360-degree camera, which enhances visibility and aids in low-speed manoeuvring, particularly in urban driving conditions.

Pricing and Hybrid Variant

The starting price of the standard petrol-powered City is Rs 12 lakh (ex-showroom), aligning it with the outgoing model. However, the e: HEV strong hybrid variant now commands a premium, with prices revised to Rs 21 lakh (ex-showroom), reflecting an increase of around Rs 1 lakh.
