Our wedding was called off indefinitely. In less than two weeks, a national lockdown was announced in India, all flights were cancelled. In April, my mother and father tested positive for Covid in Long Island. What I had been reading about in news articles was happening to my own people. It was painful and scary, but they survived.

Akhilesh Yadav today visited his father Mulayam Singh Yadav at his Lucknow home and invited him to a key meeting next week of the Samajwadi Party, which he now heads after a bitter tussle for power early this year. It is believed to be the first meeting between the two in many months.

Ukraine's ambassador to India whose phone was stolen on Wednesday has been recovered by Delhi Police. Ambassador Igor Polikha was clicking a selfie near the Red Fort when his mobile was snatched away. One person has been arrested in the case.
