Puducherry:
Puducherry Chief Minister N.Rangasamy launched a free bicycle scheme to benefittenth standard (SSLC) students.
The scheme would involve an expenditure of Rs 4.5 crore, he said, handing over cycles to the students of GovernmentGirls High School at Kadirkamam.
The Department of Social Welfare was implmenting the scheme aimed at covering around 16,000 students of both thegovernment schools and government-aided institutions.
This is a recurrent scheme which would cover new batch of students every year. Welfare Minister P.Rajavelu andofficials of the department were also present.
