10 Reasons Why Notes Ban Could Be A Sparrow's Belch In A Thunderstorm

After demonetisation is over:

1. Will babus and politicians stop asking for bribes?

2. Will parties fight elections using only cheques for payments and do without cash, above all, ensuring their expenditure stays within the Election Commission's norms?

3. Will big businessmen start paying all their taxes and stop trying to avoid paying tax?

4. Will the enormous amount of taxes in all real estate deals suddenly start being willingly paid in full?

5. Will all dowry and extravagant marriage expenses be paid by cheque?

6. Will all shopkeepers give you a bill for each one of your purchases and will you willingly pay the extra price of sales tax or GST?

7. Will cops sacrifice up to half-a-lakh of rupees a day in income from bribes instead of challans by turning honest and officially fining every motorist that breaks the rules?

8. Will officials stop taking a cut from NREGA workers all across the country when they are paid their daily wages?

9. Will jewellers sacrifice crores and crores of income they accumulate every year by not paying taxes and suddenly start paying their taxes?

10. Will hoarders and black marketeers cease to exist or perhaps continue their trade using credit cards and cheques?

Demonetisation tackles the symptom not the disease.

The disease originates and is spread by our politicians - can we seriously expect the same politicians to get to the source of the cancer when the source is they themselves?

No - the magenta Rs 2000 note and the new grey-coloured Rs 500 notes will soon turn black again.
