Bhartiya Janata Party wants controversial IPS officer to be removed from service

Kozhikode: Against the backdrop of the Central Government's purported direction to the state government to initiate action against controversial IPS officer Tomin J Thachankary, Bhartiya Janata Party State President V Muraleedharan today demanded his immediate removal from service.

Muraleedhran said mere suspension of the officer from the post was not sufficient. He should be removed from service immediately, Muraleedhran told mediapersons here today, "The integrity of the officer had been questioned.The officer has not right to continue in service," he said.

On the Kuttanand package,he said the package as recommended by the Swaminathan Commission should be implemented. Muraleedharan alleged under the name of the package,tourist mafia and sea encroachers are getting assistance. Those involved in corruption should be brought to book, he said.
