New Delhi: Bihar Teachers Eligibility Test (TET) exam was concluded yesterday on July 23. The exam was conducted after a gap of six years and considering the number of candidates who had applied for the exam, the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) had made appropriate arrangements to conduct the examination without any controversy. However, despite the arrangements the board was surrounded by question paper leak controversy along with the allegations of massive cheating at certain exam centres. The allegations of question paper leak were refuted and it was later found that the copies of the alleged leaked paper was fraud.

The allegations of cheating were not unfounded though and there have been reports of candidates being expelled from exam. A total of 2,43, 459 candidates appeared for the exam at 348 exam centres spread across the state. In Patna alone there were 30 exam centres to facilitate the candidates appearing for the exam.

The exam was conducted in two sessions and for each session the question paper along with the answer key went viral on whatsapp before the commencement of the exam. However, the board as well as candidates who appeared in the exam claimed that the leaked questions and answers were misleading and were not in the actual question paper.

There have bene reports of over 30 candidates being expelled from the exam at various exam centres on account of cheating.

The session one was conducted for class 1 to class 5 and candidates appearing in the paper claimed that it was easy. The second session was conducted for class 6 to class 8 and candidates who appeared in this session claimed that the level of questions was difficult.

Candidates who completed their schooling from CBSE also found the paper a bit difficult as the questions were framed only in Hindi. Generally, competitive exams of this nature have bilingual question paper, that is questions are in both Hindi and English but in Bihar TET the questions were set in Hindi only which posed a challenge to such candidates who completed their schooling in English medium.
