Swine flu on the rise; 23 confirmed cases in India
New Delhi, Hyderabad, Bangalore:

India now has 23 confirmed case of swine flu, as six new cases have been reported from Bangalore, Hyderabad and a student from Jalandhar in Delhi.

Hyderabad has three new cases of which two are children. The sisters, aged four years and eight years flew in from New Jersey to the city. The third case is that of the grandmother of the boy who tested positive on Sunday. Also, five new suspected swine flu cases have been reported at the quarantine facility.

In Bangalore, a 29-year-old woman and her three-year-old daughter who were quarantined at the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Chest Diseases after they arrived from New Jersey on June 12 tested positive for the virus.

Another passenger, a 17-year-old male who had travelled from Orlando to Delhi, also tested positive. The boy was travelling with a group of 30 other school children from Jalandhar on a school trip to the USA.

However, the government says there's no need to panic as most of the cases are imported and it hasn't spread locally.
