Rathore's conditional yes to Narco test

Chandigarh: Former DGP of Haryana SPS Rathore, convicted in Ruchika Girhotra molestation case, has recently written back to Haryana government saying that he is ready to undergo Narco test if Ruchika's family and Anand Prakash's family should also take the same test. Girhotra family, however says this is just another delay tactic of Rathore. ( Read: Rathore's letter to Haryana government)

Rathore's conditional yes to the Narco test comes as he replied to a notice issue to him by the Haryana government.

In his reply, he says, "I consider it my moral duty to offer myself for Narco tests provided Shri SC Girhotra, Ashu Girhotra, Aradhana Gupta, Shri Anand prakash and Madhu Prakash, who have spread lies all over the country through the media and have succeeded in getting three new false FIRs registered against me attracting serious non cognizable offences, should also undergo the same tests. I also undertake that I will undergo these tests at my risk knowing fully well the risks involved on account of aortic valve surgery undergone by me provided others who have involved me also undergo same tests. I will also request the government to reach the truth into various kinds of allegations being made against me through the media. Painting me as evil man must be independently enquired by any of the premier intelligence agencies of the country e.g. IB or RAW."

Anand Prakash, the father of Ruchika's friend Aradhana, has said before that he was ready for any test if investigation needed so.

Last December, Rathore was convicted and sentenced to six-month jail term for molesting Ruchika in 1990. A budding tennis player, Ruchika committed suicide three years after the incident.

Rathore has moved the court for quashing of the sentence, but the CBI is asking for enhancement of sentence. (Watch: CBI wants to grill Rathore in jail)
