Neil O'Brien, credited with pioneering quizzing in the country, passed away in Kolkata on Friday, his son and Trinamool Congress lawmaker Derek O'Brien said.
The 82-year-old former Lok Sabha and West Bengal Assembly member is survived by his wife and three sons.

He was also a former chairman of the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination and the Inter State Board of Anglo-Indian Education.
