Jammu:
Jammu and Kashmir government on Saturday said 425 Micro Hydel Projects (MHPs) constructed by the Army under Operation Sadbhavana in Jammu and Kashmir are either "non-functional" or "non-existent."
"A committee, set up by the state government, conducted survey of 524 MHPs, out of which 425 such projects are found non-functional and non-existent," Minister for Science and Technology Aga Syed Ruhullah said in reply to a question in Legislative Council.
Out of these projects constructed by the Army under Operation Sadbhavana, 388 projects are found non-functional and 37 non-existent. "Only 99 are functional," he said, adding that the survey for the rest projects is on.
He said 1000 MHPs are to be executed by various Army formations under Border Area Development Programme and Operation Sadbhavana in the state.
