Karnataka crisis: BJP MLAs stage protest outside Raj Bhavan
Bangalore: The BJP took its war against the Karnataka Governor to Raj Bhavan door steps by staging a dharna outside the Governor's house, making it clear that it wants the recall of Governor HR Bharadwaj after he took on the Yeddyurappa government on corruption issues.

However, the dharna turned out to be a sort of damp squib as the protest was over, as soon as it began, with protestors being taken away in police vans.

The Bangalore city police were out in full force to prevent any disruption of peace. But Yeddyurappa reiterated what he has been saying ever since the prosecution sanction.

"For a Governor to speak the way he has is unbelievable - for the first time in the history of the country a Governor has spoken like that. We are gathering at Raj Bhavan to register our protest," said the Chief Minister of Karnataka, BS Yeddyurappa.

However, unfazed by all that was happening outside, the Governor went on with his official programmes.

"Now there is a debate about my own office, but I can assure you, that Constitution is the key by which we are all governed... whatever difficult times have occurred wherever there has been abrasion of rule of law, democracy - this strait, steel jacket which we wear during difficult times... they maintain the real rule book," said HR Bharadwaj, Karnataka Governor.

Though the protest was short lived, but the message BJP wanted to send out was clear that there will be no let-up in pressure by the party on their demand for the recall of the Governor.
