Bihar government has decided to set up a super emergency operation centre armed with latest equipment and resources in Patna and emergency operation centres in other districts of the state.

The proposed super emergency operation centre will be set up in the under-construction Police Bhawan and protocols will be laid down for functioning of the centre, the Chief Minister said.
Mr Kumar directed the Disaster Management Department and Disaster Management Authority to submit a proposal to the state government about requirements of the super emergency operation centre.
He said that a police officer will be made the nodal officer of the super emergency operation centre.
With food being most sought after relief material during times of natural disaster, the chief minister said that the 'Shatabdi Ann Kalash Yojana' will remain operational so that nobody dies.
Mr Kumar directed the officials to put in place a standard operating process for mitigating situation arising out of storm like one in place for flood, drought, earthquake, water crisis and fire and said that there should be District Disaster Management Plan on the lines of State Disaster Management Plan (SDMP) in addition to Disaster Management Plan in all government officials to deal with natural disaster.
To mobilise resources for disaster management, he emphasized on making arrangements for all requirements at the state and district-level on time to migitate the natural disaster and identified life jacket, net, tent, box, utensil, boat, inflatable motorboat, GPS set, inflatable emergency lighting system, ambulances among other necessary resources for the purpose.
The Chief Minister further directed the officials to provide training to the people to deal with natural disaster, besides imparting training to quick medical response teams by laying down norms for doctors and police officials so that the disaster management mechanism remained unaffected in the case of transfers.
He said that there should be regular checking of kits provided to the officials for disaster management so that it remained functional at all times and those kits should be provided to the Primary Health Centres and police stations as well.
The Disaster Management Minister Chandrashekhar, Chief Secretary Anjani Kumar Singh, DGP P K Thakur and other top officials attended the review meeting of the Disaster Management Department.
