Anna's doctor advises him to reconsider continuing with maun-vrat
Ralegan Siddhi: Veteran social worker Anna Hazare was on Saturday advised complete rest for at least a week following high blood pressure and back pain, his personal physician said here.

K.M. Sancheti examined the 74-year-old Hazare here this afternoon after the social activist was diagnosed with high blood pressure Friday.

"I have advised him to reconsider his decision of continuing with the vow of silence (maun-vrat). He is also losing weight and suffering from back pains," Sancheti told media persons, adding that he had recommended a week's complete rest to the ailing leader.

Last week, Hazare had said in his blog that he would continue with his vow of silence in view of his health conditions. He also said he was suffering from pain in the knees and speaking with people exhausted him.

However, Sancheti explained that although Hazare does not speak, he keeps thinking. This results in stress, leading to increase in blood pressure, he added.

In view of his frail health, Hazare skipped the Team Anna core committee meeting held in Ghaziabad Saturday.
