Delhi Gets New DTC Bus Service

A new DTC bus service which will span a distance of 92 km from Anand Vihar ISBT to Uttar Nagar in New Delhi.

New Delhi: Delhi Transport Minister Gopal Rai today inaugurated a new DTC bus service which will span a distance of 92 km from Anand Vihar ISBT to Uttar Nagar in New Delhi.

Mr Rai, who flagged off the service - Outer Ring Road Express - from Delhi Secretariat here, said that DTC will run 40 buses, including 20 AC low-floor buses, on this route.

"In order to reduce the congestion and pollution on roads, everybody should use public transport. The new route has been so designed that it will give connectivity between National Highways and other important places across the city such as NH-24 at Sarai Kale Khan, NH-2 at Ashram/Maharani Bagh, NH- 8 at Dhaula Kuan, NH-10 at Peera Garhi and NH-1 at Mukarba Chowk," Rai told reporters in New Delhi.

The first trip of the bus serive will start at 5.25 AM from Anand Vihar and the last trip will be from Uttar Nagar at 7.10 PM.

The Delhi transport minister said that route will cover major traffic points at Anand Vihar ISBT, Hasanpur Depot, Delhi Secretariat, IP Metro Station, Sarai Kale Khan, Kalkaji Mandir, Nehru Place, Hauz Khas Metro Station, RK Puram Sec-I, Dhaula Kuan, Delhi Cant, Uttam Nagar Terminal, Peera Garhi, Mukarba Chowk, Wazirabad, Yamuna Vihar, Nand Nagri Depot and Seemapuri.

He also said that that DTC authorities have been instructed to strengthen the maintenance team and maintain punctuality of the buses so that the commuters may use public transport in place of cars and other private vehicles.
