A landmark moment for India’s atomic energy programme. The Prototype Fast Breeder Reactor at Kalpakkam has achieved sustained nuclear fission, a milestone nearly two decades in the making. Scientists say this strengthens energy security and moves India closer to long term nuclear energy independence.
