'Our Approach Is To Give A Helping Hand': India On Nepal Flood Relief

India has said it is extending bilateral assistance to Nepal following the devastating flash floods and will consider further support based on requests from the Nepalese government.

At a press briefing, officials said India has already provided medicines as part of its humanitarian assistance and is ready to respond to additional requests. India also said it is aware that foreign nationals have been affected and could assist with evacuation if the situation requires it.

Officials stressed that India's immediate focus is on helping stranded Indian nationals while extending humanitarian support to Nepal, adding that India has previously acted as a first responder during humanitarian crises and assisted nationals of other countries as well.
