After the grand construction of the Ram Temple, Ayodhya is set to welcome another landmark that blends faith, art, and tourism in the city - the world's first Ramayana-themed wax museum. The museum, now complete, will be inaugurated by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath during the ninth Deepotsav celebrations, reported ANI.

Spread across 9,850 sq. ft. and built at a cost of Rs 6 crore, the museum promises to transport visitors straight into the Treta Yuga, the era in which the Ramayana is set. Designed to be both a centre of devotion and a major tourist attraction, it offers a one-of-a-kind experience that combines mythology, technology, and artistry.

The museum is being operated in collaboration with the Ayodhya Municipal Corporation, with 12% of its revenue directed toward the city's development.

A Look Inside The New Ramayana Wax Museum

The museum features 50 lifelike wax statues of key characters from the Ramayana, including Lord Ram, Mata Sita, Lakshman, Bharat, Hanuman, Ravana, and Vibhishan. Each sculpture is intricately detailed - from attire and expressions to posture and lighting - to recreate the essence of the epic.

Visitors are greeted at the entrance by a majestic idol of Lord Ganesha, symbolising auspicious beginnings before stepping into the world of Ramayana.

Multi-Level Design And Highlights Of The Ramayana Wax Museum

Built in traditional South Indian architectural style, the two-storey structure brings scenes from the Ramayana vividly to life.

  • Ground Floor: Showcases Lord Ram's childhood, Sita's swayamvar, and moments from the early life of Ram Lalla. A special selfie point beside the statue of child Ram allows visitors to take memorable photos.
  • First Floor: Depicts the years of exile, Lanka Dahan, and the grand Ram-Ravana war. Dynamic 3D light effects illuminate key scenes such as Sita's abduction and Hanuman setting Lanka ablaze - complete with lighting that mimics real flames.

The entire experience is enhanced by the gentle fragrance of sandalwood, soothing Ram bhajans, and the continuous chant of "Ram Tarak Mantra," creating a deeply immersive spiritual journey.
