Flight journeys are fun, but they can be quite draining when it comes to long distances. While passengers have the privilege of relishing meals, watching movies, and relaxing comfortably in their seats, flight attendants have to remain on their feet for hours. On long-haul flights, cabin crew members work in shifts that can last anywhere between 12 and 16 hours. So, have you ever wondered how – or where – they get some rest? Not long ago, a flight attendant named Bryan dropped a video on Instagram, offering a peek into the place where crew members retire for the night.

The clip opens with a text overlay that reads, “People ask me where flight attendants sleep when they have a 17-hour flight.” Restricted to passengers, the secret area is known as CRC, aka Crew Rest Compartment. Bryan then changes into his pyjamas before panning his camera to show what his sleeping cabin looks like. He climbs up a flight of stairs, revealing a hidden section of the aircraft interior that features compact beds and curtains.
“We even have seatbelts and they must be fastened when sleeping in case of turbulence”, claimed Bryan, adding that the spot also has “blankets, pillows, overhead lights and even curtains for privacy and a TV with endless entertainment.”

The post was quick to grab the internet's attention.
“How many hours active vs rest do you get on a 17h flight?” asked a user.
“Are you still being paid while resting?” wondered another.
“Can I book economy class but have this bed during my 12-hour flight?” questioned an individual playfully.
“Wow, that's how you look refreshed,” noted another individual.
"Thanks for sharing! So cool to see 'behind the scenes' with the crew,” admitted one person.
This is not the first time flight attendants have taken viewers on a secret tour of their designated cabins. A former Indian Emirates cabin crew member, Panthi Shah, had earlier uploaded a video on Instagram showcasing how she makes her bed “41,000 ft up in the air.” “Used to be my fave place on an aircraft as a crew,” read her side note.
Flight attendants typically take turns resting, which allows them to recharge during long-haul journeys.
