- Queues at Bengaluru airport's Uber pickup point allegedly caused long waits for travellers recently
- A video claimed travellers were waiting over two hours for cabs at the airport's designated area
- Users suggested taking buses, but luggage and late-night travel made it difficult for some
The struggle of travelling to and from Bengaluru airport is well-known to locals as well as visitors. Its location on the outskirts of the city is infamous for traffic, which means that people spend a lot of time on airport transfers - sometimes even more than the flight journey itself. Posts about the same have often gone viral on social media. Recently, a post about another kind of issue allegedly complicating the lives of travellers at Bengaluru airport has taken X (formerly Twitter) by storm. It has sparked a fresh discussion about which is the best mode of transport in the city.

X user Disha Saini posted a video of a seemingly unending queue of people at the Uber pickup point at Bengaluru airport. She claimed she "waited more than 2 hours here" for her cab. The clip shows many people with suitcases and other luggage standing in an extremely long line in the designated area.
Landed in Bangalore at night to save time and this is what the uber pickup point looked like at the airport. Waited more than 2 hours here. pic.twitter.com/591c3fWnrZ

In the comments, many X users recommended taking buses instead of waiting for cabs. Disha replied to their suggestion, explaining, "With the luggage I had, it felt too hectic. Also, to travel from the bus stop to my society at 11:30ish at night felt a little too much." In response to another comment, she pointed out related problems, stating, "Last time I got an airport taxi, they made a bill of 5k...for 24kms 2. The cabs were very few at Ola/Uber pickup points; they were coming 1-2 every 15 minutes."

I think its like an everyday scene. I had to pay an exorbitant price for Uber Black (double to the usual rate last time)

KIADB buses are the best option but the problem is last mile connectivity, if something could be done about that it would be wonderful. Very few autos and cabs in the night

Yeah, ran into the same line, booked a Rapido, it picked me up from the general pickup on the ground floor, and I got the hell out of that queue.

At that point, I'm bribing people to cut ahead or paying a premium to a chauffeur or something. 2 hours is insane!

It will always be funny to me that my flight from Mumbai to Bangalore was 2hrs and from BLR airport to City was 4hrs! 😂😂

This has been the case for the past 8 months or so. Cabs were readily available before that anytime of the day or late night. For the past 8 months, I have facing the same issue. Lack of Ola, Uber, Airport and Rapido cabs at Bangalore airport T1 & T2. Does anyone know the reason?
