Video: Air Canada Pilot Requests Flyers To Ask 'No Questions' On Runway Collision At LaGuardia Airport

After an Air Canada Express passenger plane collided with a fire truck on a LaGuardia Airport runway, people have many questions about what exactly went amiss that led to the tragic crash. A video going viral on X and Threads shows an in-flight announcement reportedly made on another Air Canada flight the next day, with the pilot addressing the accident.

In the clip, the captain can be heard saying: "To make this incredibly hard moment a little easier on all of us, I humbly request that you avoid asking questions on the nature of the accident to our cabin crew and all our other colleagues today. The situation is incredibly complex, still developing, and we are not authorised to comment at this instant."

As seen in the video and as claimed in the caption, the passengers were completely attentive during the safety demonstration.

The viral video received a range of reactions from viewers, many appreciating the pilot for his professionalism and expressing sympathy for everyone affected.

One wrote, "My sympathy to your airline, and their families."

In a video statement released hours after the runway collision, Air Canada President and CEO Michael Rousseau mourned the loss of the two pilots in the tragic crash and expressed "deepest sorrow for everyone affected." Rousseau said he knows people have a lot of questions, "but at this early stage, we do not have all the answers, as the circumstances are still being assessed."
