Your Guide To Taking The Best Pictures At the Taj Mahal:
Best Spots To Take Pictures
Check out these five iconic spots for capturing the beauty of the Taj Mahal:
1. Main Entrance Arch (Darwaza-i-Rauza): Frame the Taj Mahal through the dark red sandstone archway, creating a beautiful arch through which you can see the while marble monument. It offers a stunning colour contrast, depth to your shot and makes for a majestic composition.
2. Princess Diana Bench: Made iconic after Princess Diana's 1992 visit, this bench right in front of the central water channel is a classic spot for solo or couple shots. Dress up in a dreamy outfit and sit with elegance on this bench for a lovely shot.
3. The Central Water Channel: Stand on the pathway along the reflecting pool for a symmetrical shot of the Taj and its mirrored image.
4. Mehtab Bagh: For a lesser known but equally beautiful perspective, visit Mehtab Bagh, a garden complex across the Yamuna River. It offers a full view of the Taj, perfect for wide shots during sunset.
5. Jawab Masjid: The red sandstone mosque to the left of the Taj provides an amazing frame for candid photos.

Best Time To Go To Taj Mahal For Fewer Crowds
Taj Mahal opens 30 minutes before sunrise, which means with a little effort in the morning, you can be the first one to enter the Taj Mahal and witness its beauty along with a magical sunrise, without any crowd blocking your view or disturbing your peace. It is also an excellent time for silhouette pictures and videos.
If you are visiting during the day, make sure you go on a weekday (except Friday when the Taj Mahal is closed) to avoid the crowd interrupting your pictures.
Avoid peak tourist seasons and plan your visit during shoulder seasons like early summer (April) or post-monsoon (September-October).
