India's largest airline, IndiGo, has been ranked among the Asia Pacific's 10 Most Punctual Airlines for 2025, according to aviation data firm Cirium. The ranking is part of Cirium's annual on-time performance review, which compares airlines across regions using independently tracked flight data. Punctuality continues to be a key issue for air travellers, especially in busy markets where delays can affect connections and travel plans. IndiGo's inclusion in the Asia Pacific list reflects how the airline performed on arrival times across its network during the year, placing it among carriers that met Cirium's defined on-time standards for 2025.

To compile the rankings, Cirium analyses flight data from more than 600 real-time sources, including airlines, airports, global distribution systems and civil aviation authorities. A flight is counted as on time if it arrives within 14 minutes and 59 seconds of its scheduled gate arrival, while airport punctuality is measured by departures within the same time limit. Cirium's assessments are overseen by an independent advisory board of aviation industry experts. It also considers factors such as network size, operational complexity, consistency throughout the year and disruptions affecting passengers.

IndiGo drew attention in early December 2025 after a large number of flights were delayed or cancelled due to issues linked to flight duty time limitation (FDTL) logs. These problems affected services across several routes during a busy travel period, leaving passengers facing long waits, rebookings and cancellations at short notice. In its report, Cirium noted, "IndiGo had a strong showing for most of the year, delivering 80% and higher on-time performance rates between June and October before falling back in November and December. That was largely driven by a change in flight crew duty regulations in early December, which led to large-scale delays and cancellations over successive days, forcing it at one point to cancel all flights from Delhi to reset its operations. That effort proved successful, though, and it quickly scaled its operations back up to over one thousand flights per day with minimal cancellations."
