India Launches Fully Digital E-Visa Facility For Kuwaiti Nationals: Application Process Explained
The E-Visa can be applied for online from anywhere.

The Government of India has launched a fully digital E-Visa facility for Kuwaiti citizens, effective from 13 July 2025, making travel to India more convenient and accessible. The new facility provides a simplified alternative to traditional visa applications. The E-Visa can be applied for online from anywhere. The existing system of obtaining a regular/paper visa at the Indian Consular Application Centres (ICAC) in Kuwait will continue to remain available.

What Are The Types Of E-Visas Included

The facility covers five categories of E-Visas:

  • Tourist E-Visa: Valid for up to five years, available at a reduced fee of USD 80
  • Business E-Visa: Valid for one year
  • Medical E-Visa: Valid for 60 days
  • Medical Attendant / AYUSH and AYUSH Attendant E-Visa: Valid for 60 days
  • Conference E-Visa: Valid for 30 days, single entry

Documents Required To Apply For An E-Visa

Applicants must ensure they have the following documents before applying for an E-Visa:

  • A passport with at least six months' validity and two blank pages
  • A recent passport-size photograph
  • Business Visa: Invitation letter from an Indian company
  • Medical Visa: Letter from a recognised Indian hospital
  • Conference Visa: Invitation from event organiser, political clearance from the Ministry of External Affairs, and event clearance from the Ministry of Home Affairs

Where To Apply For The E-Visa

Apply directly for the E-Visa via the official Indian government portal: https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/evisa/. The portal also offers detailed instructions on eligibility, requirements, and guidance on filling out the E-Visa forms.

E-Visa processing typically takes three to four working days. Biometrics will be captured at the Indian port of arrival, and applicants are not required to visit the Indian Consular Application Centres for this process.

Things To Keep In Mind After Visa Application

  • The fee must be paid online using a credit/debit card or payment wallet. Both application and payment should be completed at least four days prior to the date of travel.
  • Once the visa is approved, an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) will be sent to the email address provided by the applicant.
  • Print the ETA and present it upon arrival at the Immigration Check Post in India, where the E-Visa will be stamped on the passport.
  • The E-Visa is valid for entry through 32 designated airports and five seaports. The full list can be checked online. However, travellers may exit through any of the authorised Immigration Check Posts (ICPs) in India.
