Delhi To Meerut Travel To Reduce To 30 Minutes With Namo Bharat And Meerut Metro

The long-awaited Namo Bharat and Meerut Metro are set to finally roll out, and life between Delhi and Meerut is about to get a serious upgrade. Imagine covering the 82 km stretch from Sarai Kale Khan to Modipuram in just around 55 minutes, with certain sections taking only 30 minutes, like the journey from Delhi to Meerut South. Namo Bharat

Part of the Delhi-Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS), Namo Bharat is a semi-high-speed train service operating at speeds of up to 160 kmph. Passengers will soon be able to catch a Namo Bharat train every 10 minutes, with the service running on the same tracks as the Meerut Metro.

Meerut Metro

The Meerut Metro will also share tracks with Namo Bharat over a 23 km stretch, comprising 13 stations, making it India's first integrated intercity-urban train corridor. The Metro will run every 7 minutes, allowing passengers to transfer seamlessly between the two services on the same platform without needing a separate ticket.

Timings

Both services are currently undergoing final trials and are slated to begin operations soon. Namo Bharat will arrive every 10 minutes, while Meerut Metro will run every 7 minutes, reducing wait times significantly. The centralised Operation Control Centre (OCC) manages both services using ETCS Level-2 technology, Automatic Train Protection (ATP), and Automatic Train Supervision (ATS) for safety and efficiency.

Namo Bharat (Delhi-Meerut RRTS): Runs 6:00 AM – 10:00 PM (weekdays and Saturdays) and 8:00 AM – 10:00 PM (Sundays). First train from Meerut South at 6:00 AM, last from Modinagar North at 10:48 PM. Trains arrive every 5–15 minutes, with the full journey taking about 55 minutes.

Meerut Metro: Similar hours (6:00 AM – 10:00 PM, weekdays & Saturdays; 8:00 AM – 10:00 PM Sundays). Trains run every 5–10 minutes during peak hours and 10–15 minutes off-peak. Travel time varies by route and station.

Ticket Prices

Passengers can travel the full journey using a single ticket. No need to buy separate tickets for Namo Bharat and Meerut Metro. Fare details for both services will be announced officially soon.
