Three Indian Hotels On Extended List Of World's Best Hotels For 2025

In a move that broadens its celebration of global hospitality, the 50 Best rankings organisation has unveiled its first-ever extended list of The World's 50 Best Hotels. This includes entries ranked from 51 to 100. The newly introduced list shines a spotlight on outstanding properties around the globe, handpicked by the World's 50 Best Hotels Academy (which comprises industry experts and seasoned travellers). The selection spans 24 territories and 40 cities, highlighting hotels that embody excellence, creativity, and character. Three Indian properties have made it to the extended list, and all of them are located in Rajasthan. Sujan Jawai has been ranked 91st, The Johri in Jaipur is placed 93rd, and Amanbagh in Ajabgarh occupies the 100th position. Read more about them below:

The tented camp, established by Jaisal and Anjali Singh, sits in the heart of a region known for its elusive leopards and pastoral Rabari herders. Each of its canvas suites is designed for minimal impact, echoing the landscape's natural hues while offering quiet luxury. Guests head out on guided drives at dawn and dusk, spotting leopards, flamingos, and hyenas in the rocky expanse. Evenings unfold around open fires or beneath starlit skies, with menus inspired by local produce. Beyond its design, the camp's focus lies in conservation.

The Johri, housed in a restored 19th-century haveli in Jaipur's Johri Bazaar, is a boutique hotel with just five distinctive suites. Each suite is named after a gemstone and decorated to reflect its namesake, with antique furniture, local textiles, and hand-painted murals evoking Rajasthan's heritage. Designed by New York-based designer Naina Shah, its aesthetic combines traditional Rajasthani crafts like pichwai paintings and latticework with a crisp, contemporary layout. Its setting amid the vibrant jewel bazaar gives guests immediate access to the bustle and colour of old Jaipur.

Amanbagh, in Ajabgarh, is a serene retreat tucked into the Aravalli Hills, characterised by Mughal-inspired architecture, sweeping gardens and old-world elegance. Its rose-hued walls, domes and scalloped arches evoke the grandeur of Rajasthan's princely past. Guests can stay in haveli-style suites or private pool pavilions, which are all designed for privacy and calm.. Dining is seasonal and farm-to-table, drawing on ingredients from the resort's organic gardens. Amanbagh is also notable for its history: once the hunting grounds of the Maharaja of Alwar, it has been transformed into a place of refuge that honours both luxury and landscape.

Best Time To Visit Rajasthan

The best time to visit Rajasthan is during the cooler, drier months from October through March, when daytime temperatures are generally comfortable and evenings can be chilly, especially in desert areas. These months also coincide with many of Rajasthan's most vibrant festivals, such as the Pushkar Camel Fair, Jaipur Literature Festival, Desert Festival, and folk fairs, making the cultural experience richer.
