A Day Before Release, Fresh Petition In Top Court Against "Padmaavat"

A lawyer, who failed in his twin attempts in the Supreme Court in getting Deepika Padukone-starrer stalled from being released, filed his third petition against the film on the eve of its all-India release and mentioned it before a bench headed by Chief Justice Dipak Misra today.

The Supreme Court today rejected the final attempt by Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh to ban the film "Padmaavat", which is set to be released on Thursday amid protests by Rajput groups. "It's an order, better abide by it. You (states) can advise people not to watch the movie," the judges said.

Ahead of "Padmaavat's" release on Thursday after a Supreme Court order, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh have petitioned the top court for a review and said that states must be allowed to stop the film on grounds of law and order trouble. Their appeal will be heard tomorrow.
