A 25-year-old man was arrested on Saturday for allegedly stabbing his wife to death at their home in north Delhi's Burari after the two had a heated argument, police said.

Dinesh Chundawat, the eldest son of the Chundawat family whose 11 members were found dead in mysterious circumstances in Delhi's Burari last year, does not believe that they died while conducting a ritual.

Seventy-seven-year-old Narayan Devi died due to hanging like the other 10 members of the Burari family, according to her post-mortem report.

Over 200 people have been questioned in connection with the mysterious deaths of 11 members of the Chundawat family in north Delhi's Burari, even as the police are certain that it was a case of "mass suicide", said a senior police officer.

Shared psychosis is being speculated as the reason behind Burari deaths. It is a mental disorder in which a person develops delusions when s/he are involved in a close relationship with another person who is already suffering from a mental disorder and experiences delusions.

According to the entry that details how 11 members of the Chundawat household hanged themselves, they expected to be saved just in time by the spirit of Lalit Chundawat's father.

For the last 11 years, Lalit Chundawat had been hallucinating about getting instructions from his dead father and kept passing them on to his niece, who noted the messages down in diaries.

Delhi Police Crime Branch on Wednesday sent notices to eight people to join the probe into the death of 11 family members in their north Delhi house on June 30.
