This year has been tough on the Assam's tea gardens producing the strong liquor tea. First, it was the lockdown, then floods and then incessant rains in Upper Assam, which, according to industry estimates, together account for a production loss of close to 40 per cent.

Three districts of Assam -Dhemaji, Lakhimpur and Baksa are still inundated and 11,900 people are reeling under the impact of the flood on Monday, an official bulletin said.

Assam flood news: Normal life has been disrupted in large parts of Assam due to severe flooding. The number of deaths due to flood-related incidents have climbed to 93 in the state and over 28 lakh people have been affected. Goalpara is the worst-hit with over 4.7 lakh people affected.
