Botched Eye Surgery: Haryana Sets Up 3-Member Probe Panel

Charitable society 'Sarv Kalyan Sewarth Samithi' had conducted the cataract surgeries on November 24 and charged Rs 6,000 to Rs 10,000 from each of the patients.

New Delhi: Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today said a three-member panel has been set up to probe the alleged botched eye surgeries that resulted into partial vision loss of at least 15 people in Ambala.

Strict action would be taken against those found guilty, Mr Khattar said in a statement.

As per reports, at least 15 people suffered partial vision loss after undergoing cataract surgery at a charitable hospital in Mahesh Nagar locality of Ambala.

Dr Charanjit Singh of charitable society 'Sarv Kalyan Sewarth Samithi' had conducted the cataract surgeries on November 24 and charged Rs 6,000 to Rs 10,000 from each of the patients.

Mr Khattar also attacked opposition parties, alleging that instead of taking up matters of public interests, they come unprepared to create nuisance.
